He was Deputy Director-General in the ASEAN Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chief of Mission in Singapore’s Embassy in Washington DC, Deputy Director-General, Deputy Director-General for Northeast Asia, Political Counsellor at the Singapore Embassy in Washington and Deputy Chief of Mission tlil 2011.
