Dr. Mahdi Safari</p><p>His Excellency Dr. Mahdi Safari has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China since May 2010. Born in Tehran of the I.R. of Iran in 1955, Mr. Safari has achieved a PHD degree in Communication. He was married and has one son.</p><p>He started to show off his political leadership since 1980 when he served as the Vice Governor of Bushehr Province. After three years in that position, he has been promoted to be President and Chairman of the Board of the Shiraz Electrical Industry from 1984 to 1988. Due to his outstanding performance, he was appointed to be the Vice Minister of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in 1988.</p><p>The next ten years from 1990 till 2001, he has been arranged to deal with important and complicated foreign affairs with Germany, Austria and the Russian Federation. From 1990 to 1992, he was the Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Federal Republic of Germany. From 1992 to 1995, he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Austria. His solid work and rich experience in dealing foreign affairs provides the foundation for his promotion to be Vice Minister in 2005.
